FFWPU Japan recently received a brief letter from Masato Ishibashi stating his intention to leave the Family Federation, according to an article posted on the website of a group fighting forced abduction and faith breaking in Japan.
This was the first indication in more than two years of Masato's physical safety. In the letter, Masato gave no indication of his present situation or whereabouts. Nor did he mention the circumstances surrounding his disappearance two years ago or the events that transpired since then.
The letter, dated April 4, 2016 and titled, "Notice of Exit", stated simply: "As a result of discussions with my family, I hereby exit the organization."
More than two years have passed since Masato Ishibashi, a member of the Family Federation in Japan, went missing after telling his friends that he intended to visit his family.
